How much does psychotherapy cost?
My fee is $100 per therapy hour (50-55 minutes.) If this is out of your range you may call to discuss other options. Cash and checks are accepted. For information about low fee counseling contact Nova Southeastern University.
Do you take insurance?
I am on many insurance panels. Please call to determine if yours is one I accept. It is beneficial for you to call your company and determine if I am a provider. You should also ask them:
- If you have mental health coverage
- What they pay for a 50 minute therapy session
- What is the mental health coverage for the year?
- What is my deductible if I have one and is it separate from medical?
- How much of my deductible have I met this year?
- Is pre-approval or pre-certification required? By whom?
- How many sessions are pre-approved at a time?

How long and how frequent are sessions?
Sessions are customarily scheduled for 1 hour (50 minutes). Occasionally clients request 2 hour sessions due to the efficiency of working for 2 hours without interruption. Initially sessions are scheduled weekly. Later in therapy they may be reduced to every other week as therapy winds to a close.
