CHANGE Your THOUGHTS – Change Your Life
Living the Wisdom of the Tao
By Dr. Wayne Dyer

21st Verse
The surest test if a man be sane
Is if he accepts life whole as it is,
Without needing by measure of touch to understand
The measureless, untouchable source
Of its images,
The measureless untouchable source
Of its substances,
The source, while it appears dark emptiness,
Brims with a quick force
Farthest away
And yea nearest at hand
From oldest time unto this day,
Charging its images with origin:
What more need I know of the origin than this?
Living the Elusive Paradox
The 21st verse takes us back to the first premise: living the mystery.
-He asks us to be conscious of the elusive nature of the Tao.
-He asks us to recognize ourselves as examples of this elusive paradox.
How do I know the ways of all things at the beginning?
I look inside myself and see what is inside me.
To understand the paradox of something that cannot be experienced by the senses:
-Examine your own nature
-Recognizing that the same principle that creates everything animates your every thought and action.
-It is all formless and nameless
Lao-Tzu tells us the greatest virtue is to find the nameless, formless force within yourself.
Have an unquenchable thirst for the intangible
And enigmatic force that supports life.
Communicate with the Source regularly asking for guidance.
The presence of a known connection with the Tao will release you from worry, stress and anxiety that’s the ego’s way of looking at the world.
-Others may stay focused on their pursuit of wealth, fame, and power
-Practice being in a state of appreciation for “the life and breath of all things,” including yourself.
-Several times a day give thanks for everything.
Give up trying to persuade anyone else of the correctness of your vision – when they’re ready, their own teachers will appear.
Here is a thought from Hafiz on the elusive nature of the Tao, many years after the death of Lao-Tzu.
If you think the truth can be known
From words,
If you think that the Sun and Ocean
Can pass through that tiny opening called the mouth.
O someone should start laughing!
Someone should start wildly laughing -
Now!
Do the Tao Now
For 5 minutes in your meditation, stay in the gap between your thoughts and notice the omnipresent Source.
